Live music: Fightstar boys are ready to rock
Published Date: 30 January 2009
POPULAR rock act Fightstar have just announced they will play a show in Peterborough on 24 April.
The band formed in late 2003 after Alex Westaway and former Busted frontman Charlie Simpson met at a party in Simpson's London home.
Following an impromptu jam session, Westaway and Simpson decided to form a band. After a few songs had been written, the band recruited bassist Dan Haigh, a school friend of guitarist Alex Westaway, and drummer Omar Abidi.
They are now preparing for the release of their third album, and will play at The Cresset on Friday, 24 April, to tie in with the release.
A new single, Mercury Summer, will be released on March 30.
Tickets, costing £12.50, will be on sale shortly by calling 01733 265705.
The show is being promoted by Just What You Want Concerts, who also have Alestorm at The Park on May 2; Wishbone Ash at the same venue on May 15 and The Black Dahlia Murder on 15 February.
